I cannot believe it is already December! And I realized this morn that I have not yet got out the Advent calendar...hmmm, wonder how deep in the closet it has been pushed??? We have some busy weekends ahead so not sure when we will take time to decorate for Christmas...seems to be coming up really fast, though!
Miss PD is back...Mom found a dispatch job pretty close to home so hopefully it will work out for me to have her 5 days/week! She is such a joy!
My Bunny passed me a note on Saturday letting me know in no uncertain terms that we needed to spend time together! How awesome is that??? We went to the fabric store...lots of inspiration but not sure it will go far...then to the Starbucks, of course! She did LOTS of talking! It was so good to share relationship with her again; I sure have missed my girl!
I started reading the Gospels a few months back, and taking time to pore over anything that I wanted to know more about. It has been an interesting journey and I am learning so much about Jesus walk on this earth. I share all this to say, I had a really neat moment this morn when I realized I am starting on Luke! What an awesome place to start in December! But then, our God is the awesome God and the God Most High so why should this surprise me? He cares so deeply for each of us and desires to show us His love in very special ways each day!
Oh yes, Lord, I see Jesus!
What are some ways that Jesus shows Himself in your life? Please share!
My love to each of you and my prayer is that you will see Jesus each and every day during this Holyday season!
Praise God from whom all blessings flow....

Jer 17:7,8 KJV Blessed is the "woman" that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For "she" shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

GOD IS SO GOOD!!!! All the time!
We learned today that the favor of God is greater than the state of Texas!!! There is not much that I can say because it is a very sensitive nature but just know that God has moved in mighty ways here!
I grew up in a Christian home so seeing the favor of the Lord is nothing new. I know you cannot see it but I am struggling to write this out because I want all the glory to go to God and I want to get it right!
Some of you visited my blog around my parents vacation and may have picked up that my little brother is handicapped. I want to share just a bit of my story with you.
DL was born when I was seven and up to that time, I was the baby of the family. At birth, it seemed everything was normal except for a lazy eye. However, by the time he was six weeks old Mom and Dad knew something was not right. Through a lot of trial and error, we learned he had what is called Herschsprungs disease which encompasses a myriad of birth defects. For DL this includes a heart murmur, undeveloped intestinal system and a non-functioning motor nerve. He has had many surgeries over the years, and many drs didn't give much hope for his life. BUT GOD...DL is 32 yrs old, will be 33 in Dec.
Hubs and I married when DL was 13. The toughest part of leaving home was leaving him! One day, shortly before I left, I was writing a letter and DL was sitting at the table with me. He grabbed a pen and began marking on my arm...I was 20! We were sitting at the table fighting like two teenagers with those pens...the pen marks took up our whole arms and took days to remove!
As I look back now, that is one of my fondest memories of that time of life! That DL had the muscle coordination to hold a pen and mark up my arm is just one of the many miracles of his life. In spite of the miracles I have seen in my marriage and my girls, the first major miracle God gave me was DL!!! I have learned through his life that no matter what anyone says, God is in control. I am still learning to not listen extensively to those around me, but to hear exactly what God is saying.
Now, that faith is being used to pray for our little PD. I know the diagnosis is not the greatest but I also know that God is in control!!! I swear, she was looking right at me today!! It was the sweetest thing! I swear she locked in, if only for a few seconds and saw my face! Yesterday, she did it with my sweet hubs, too!!!
I know that my history with DL is one of the things that drew the adoptive Mom to ask us to care for PD and I am so happy to have this opportunity!
I know that all of us have stories of faith! Times when we have seen God move in a mighty, miraculous way. Would you please share yours with me? I love to hear all that God has done and is doing!
I hope your week is awesome and that God performs miracles in your life even now!

Where I saw myself at 40
Well, I can sure tell you, this is not it!!! PD is absolutely precious and we have all fallen head over heels in love with her, but to have a wee one at this age is not what I expected!!!
We took Bunny to meet some friends at the mall today so DD1 and PD went with me to a cute little boutique called "Butterflies and Bowties"...they have really cute stuff! However, we did not last 20 min before PD was crying and fussing and shopping was no longer worth it!
And forget my baking for a while! I got a batch of no-bake cookies made today but can't see whipping up a Buttermilk Pie or Something Else until she is a bit older and on more of a schedule!!!
I did make two cards today, though. One for a church anniversary, one for a friend's baby who will soon turn 1 - unfortunately they look a lot alike!!! My supplies sat in the middle of the floor in between, so the dogs have walked all over it. The husky mix stepped on the cutter that I had left the wide portion open, so it closed and scared her! She jumped pretty high, and that was funny!!!
PD will be 3mo old on Monday - she is working on lifting up her head, occasionally puts both hands on the bottle and will grasp your finger so tightly! Mom and PD have an appt with a neuro next week because the original diagnosis for her eyes is not good. The dr's she saw this week say she has no tracking ability...but I swear there are times when she does see something! Her favorite thing to do is lay in your lap and look up at the ceiling fan!
Please be praying with us that God will touch her sight, if that is His will.
I am only on the computer now because hubs is at work, Bunny is at the mall and PD is asleep, apparently taking her shopping wore her out....it about did me!!! See, life has changed pretty quickly around here, but we would not trade anything for the way it was last week. God in his graciousness has opened up a door for us to serve a friend in need, and love PD in the process!!! That is just a bonus!
Okay, she is beginning to squirm so I will close! Have a blessed weekend! We will be having our pizza tonight, no idea what movie we will see...has anyone seen Martian Child, is it good or not worth the time?
Really closing now...
